Still Life: Line
This project emphasizes the principle of line shape and line weight to communicate positive and negative space as well as emphasizing objects closer or farther from the viewer.

Strip 1 Design Project
This project has three phases, focusing on black and white design in a 2D space and transitioning to a 3D space.
Cross Contour Still Life
This was our first remote project for ART 121 so I set up a still life at home. This project focuses on the cross contours of each object to make a composition. I had a lot of fun drawing the contours of the leaves on the plants.

Cross Hatching Still Life Drawing
This was another project for ART 121 where I set up a still life at home. This project focuses on using the technique of cross-hatching to create value and depth. The hardest part about this piece was adding texture to the fur of the bear, but in the end, I think this piece turned out pretty great!

Fabric Charcoal Still Life
This was a project for Art 121 were we set up a still life of an arranged piece of hanging fabric or cloth and used charcoal to draw it. This project focused on the additive and subtractive methods of using charcoal. It was also an introduction to smooth transitions between value tones after the cross hatching project.

Self Portrait Still Life
This was my final project for Art 121. We created a still life that reflected ourselves in some way. We also had to include an article of clothing and other objects with personal significance. This project brought together all the concepts we had worked on throughout the year: composition, line, value, and texture. I really enjoyed drawing the shoes and I liked how they turned out. I think the composition could be strengthened by adding more detail to the background.
